Industry Accreditations
TRI Air and Pure Gas Testing Laboratory
TRI has a long history of accredited laboratory excellence, maintaining ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation through AIHA LAP, LLC for more than four decades. In 2025, TRI strategically transitioned to the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to align with the industry’s most recognized and globally respected accreditation body.
Today, TRI is proudly accredited by NATA and A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025:2017—the international gold standard for laboratory quality and technical competence. This accreditation reflects a rigorous evaluation of TRI’s operations, including staff expertise, training, equipment, facility standards, safety practices, documentation, calibration, and overall quality systems.
A2LA accreditation reinforces TRI’s longstanding commitment to delivering precise, reliable, and defensible analytical results. Laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 stand out for their proven technical proficiency and strong operational integrity—qualities that define every aspect of TRI’s services.
Only the activities listed on TRI’s official A2LA Scope of Accreditation are included under this accreditation. For complete details, please refer to TRI’s A2LA Certificate and Scope of Accreditation (Certificate No. 7418.01).
Who Tests the Air and Pure Gas Testers?
TRI Air Testing, Inc. Vice President, J. Michael Carlson decided several years ago to answer the question, “Who Tests the Air Testers?” The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) proficiency testing sub-committee with input from three other founding laboratories developed and is currently administering the Compressed Air Proficiency Testing Program (CAPT).
Over 30 air and pure gas testing laboratories participate in the round-robin compressed air and pure gas proficiency testing group. The unknown air sample is prepared by an ISO-9000 registered gas supplier. By participating in quarterly Compressed Air Proficiency Testing Program (CAPT) we are able to compare our test results of an unknown sample of air and pure gas to the test results of other participating laboratories throughout the World.
